Hon .Minister Arjuna Ranathunga Participates In The Sea Asia Maritime Conference

The Hon. Minister of Ports and Shipping Arjuna Ranatunga participates in the Sea Asia Maritime Conference currently under way at Sands Expo & Convention Centre Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. Minister delivered a special speech at this conference. Ports at SriLanka considered as hubs of transshipment.

SriLanka located in a tragic geological location. SriLanka is the main connective hub between East and West nations. So that it would be easy to buildup strong economy in this island. Singapore considered as main hub for SriLanka exportable products. Sri Lanka was Singapore’s 39th largest trading partner in 2015, with bilateral trade amounting to S$2.05 billion. The sixth Sea Asia Maritime Conference will help to extend business activities between international business communities. 10 nations including China, Denmark, Greece, Japan, Korea, Netherland, Panama, Singapore and United Kingdom are the organizers of this summit. To mark the conference a special marine exhibition has organized at the site. Traders representing local and international communities are participating in this summit.
