The opening ceremony of Goodrich container yard in Ja-Ela was held In June 15th 2017. People who attended the ceremony are as follows: The Chairman Of Sri Lanka Ports Authority Dr. Parakrama Dissanayake, Parliamentarian Mr harshana Rajakaruna, Parliamentarian Mr Kavinda Jayewardana, Secretary of presidential secretarial Mr Chamind Sirimalwattha, Director of Mahaweli Mr Aruna Lekamge, Senior DIG Mr Kapila Jayasekara, and DIG Mr Rajitha Sri Dhaminda .The international container yard in Kadana was jointly invested of 11 million SLR by Goodrich Lanka Pvt Ltd covering an area of 12000 square meters. The new container yard has advanced international logistics management system. Maximum daily storage of international container is 1200 TEUs. It has the domestic advanced inspection and quarantine fumigation and culling disinfection system. It is one of the international container yards with a large scale and advanced equipment within domestic customs supervision area, combining the inspection and quarantine system and storage and stockpiling function.
